Daniel Prospered

So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
(Daniel 6:28)
Devotional
From the reign of Nebuchadnezzar to Belshazzar, and from Darius to Cyrus, Daniel not only survived, he prospered. When we are under the rule and reign of God’s kingdom, the rule and reign of man’s kingdom is mute. Daniel never compromised his integrity or his faith. He did right by his God regardless of what was deemed right by man. He, furthermore, was honorable to the governing authorities. He served and led. He humbled himself and was therefore exulted. Because of Daniel’s faithfulness and lack of arrogance he stood before kings and prospered at his calling. Whether in the palace of the king or the den of lions, he trusted and obeyed his God. Whether a slave or ruler, he never lost sight of the source of his strength and wisdom. Daniel did as the apostle Peter instructs, “Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.” He did this and he prospered.
