Title

They Cannot Deliver You

Scripture
You have forsaken Me and served other gods, therefore...Go and cry out to the gods which you have chosen, let them deliver you.
(Judges 10:13-14)
Devotional
When we foolishly turn our backs on the one and only true God to serve the gods of this world, we more than jeopardize the mercy and grace of God. Furthermore, to add insult to injury we desire the best of both worlds by serving the gods of this world and wanting the blessings and protection of the one and only true God. God in His judgment says, “No! Go and cry out to the gods you have served, let them deliver you.”
Nevertheless because of His great mercy and compassion, He hears our cries and calls us to repentance. Therefore, let us forsake the gods of lust, greed, envy and lasciviousness. Let us be servants of the Creator of the universe. He will never forsake us nor deceive us. The gods of this world cannot deliver us out of our distresses. But the mercy of the one true God can deliver us out of not only our distresses, but He can deliver us from the false gods we have foolishly served.

Thought For The Day

“Sport is America’s newest and fastest-growing religion, far outdistancing whatever is in second place... It is not merely ‘like’ a religion … it is not just a parallel that is emerging between sport and religion, but rather a complete identity… for many, sport religion has become a more appropriate expression of personal religiosity than Christianity… or any of the traditional religions...” Charles S. Prebish, associate professor of religious studies, Pennsylvania State University.
