Title

Born Again

Scripture
Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
(John 3:3)
Devotional
We were all born with a sin nature. This we have inherited from the first man, Adam. Because of original sin, we are all going to die. Therefore to live again, we must be born again. This is the keystone message of Christ and the message is clear: “Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Let us ask as the Philippian jailor asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”(1) And let us hear the answer, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.”(2) What are we to believe? We are to believe that God sent His only begotten Son to pay the price for our sins and that He came, lived, died and rose again from the dead. If we accept that payment for sin, we shall be born again. And the evidence of being born again is a perpetually changing life. “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”(3)

Thought For The Night
Some day you will read in the papers that D.L. Moody, of East Northfield, is dead. Don't you believe a word of it! At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now. I shall have gone up higher, that is all-out of this old clay tenement into a house that is immortal; a body that death cannot touch, that sin cannot taint, a body fashioned like unto his glorious body. I was born of the flesh in 1837. I was born of the Spirit in 1856. That which is born of the flesh may die. That which is born of the Spirit will live forever.” D.L. Moody
