Title

An Appointment With God

Scripture
I said to the Lord
(Psalm 140:41432)
Devotional
Before we ask, we are to address. There is a protocol to prayer. Psalm 100:4 instructs, "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name."[22] When Jesus taught His disciples to pray He taught them to first of all address the Father, "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name."[23] When we begin to recognize who God is and where He dwells, we will be more formal in our approach to Him. We know that He is a loving Father and we know that we have a friend in Christ. However, we also know that He is Lord God Almighty, the very Creator of the universe. Therefore we are to worship Him in the beauty of holiness and tremble before Him.[24] Surely we can approach the throne of God any time, we can utter a prayer in a word. Nevertheless, let us also make an appointment with Him by setting aside a time for the express purpose of an audience with the strength of our salvation.
