A Synopsis of The Gospel

Scripture
If you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear...
(1 Peter 1:17)
Devotional
The precepts of our text our immeasurable: We are first of all to in prayer call upon the Father just as the Lord Jesus taught us, "Our Father in heaven..."[35] Secondly we also learn from the repeated proclamation of the apostle Peter as he said in the book of Acts, "In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But... whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him."[36] We are also told that it is not as much of what we say as it is what we do, "According to each one's work." Furthermore it is then not so much a matter of what we do, as it is the attitude in which we do it. How we conduct ourselves obviously matters a great deal to God. We are then reminded that our stay on earth is temporal. And finally we are instructed to do all this in the fear of the Lord, which is to recognize His awesome glory and authority. We are to live our lives in what the world would see as extreme reverence toward and obedience to our Creator.
