Title

Beware The Angry Man

Scripture
The wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
(James 1:20)
Devotional
The wrath of man is inevitably expressed by vindictive anger. It is not a matter of things or events causing this outburst of anger, but an angry man seeking a rationale to vent his sinful nature. The wrath of man, like all besetting sins, is inherent. And like all sin, it takes the grace of God to bring about repentance and the ability to die to his sin nature. The book of Proverbs clearly warns about dealing an angry man: We are instructed to, "Make no friendship with an angry man, and with a furious man do not go, lest you learn his ways and set a snare for your soul."[27] Likewise, "An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression."[28] I have known wonderfully gifted men who have refused to acknowledge their deep-rooted anger; and have mistakenly made friendships with them. The warnings of the Proverbs eventually came to fruition; and the end result did not produce the righteousness of God.
