Title

Liar, Liar...

Scripture
Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips and from a deceitful tongue.
(Psalm 120:2)
Devotional
The psalmist is speaking with regard to others, but without doubt is likewise praying for his own integrity. As we endeavor to carry out great and mighty exploits[8] we will inevitably be slandered. If we think that the enemy and deceiver of the brethren will idly stand by when God is working in the lives of His people, we have already been deceived. When it comes to the master of deceit, he uses basically two forms of lies: lying lips which are outright diabolical lies. This form of lies is so outrageous and so unbelievable that the deceived think that it has to be true. The second and most deceptive for of lies are the lies that are wrapped in an element of truth or are partial truths. These deceitful tongues are twisted truths, innuendos or out of context stories whose soul purpose is to malign or defame another. Let us remember that most liars believe their own lies
