Title

The Grace to Kill & The Mercy to Heal

Scripture
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven... a time to kill, and a time to heal
(Ecclesiastes 3:1&3a)
Devotional
There is a time to kill, but there is never a time to murder.[33] Defending the sovereignty of the nation or the lives of our families may require a time to kill. I thank God for the United States of America and the way she has defended herself against oppression and those who would do her harm. We, as a nation, have had to kill our foes, but once they have been defeated, we have done our best to bring "a time to heal." We are likewise, in the spiritual sense, to kill the sin that dwells in us. Once we have the victory over that besetting sin, we are to work on a time of healing. Often times ridding ourselves of sin can be painful and therefore requires a time of healing. Here is what I know: it takes great grace to kill and great mercy to heal. It is the brave soul that is able to by faith do both.
