Title

The Word Of The Lord Prevails

Scripture
So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.
(Acts 19:20)
Devotional
After all the miracles, signs and wonders, it was still the Word of the Lord that prevailed. It was not Paul's handkerchief or the seven sons of Sceva that had the power to convert souls; it was God's Word. It still holds it authority today. It still has the power to change lives. Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."[19] The power of God has always been and will always be in His unadulterated Word. I know that there is much attention given to the wonders of God: miracles, healings and the like. These are all testimonies of His grace, but it is His Word that makes brings salvation. It is His Word to which we are called to be obedient. Man's tendency is to follow the signs, but the power is in following the Word. The preacher of the Word will make a greater difference in our lives than the healers of the body. Therefore, let it be the Word of the Lord that prevails and grows mightily in us.
