Title

Repentance Is Not an Option

Scripture
Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.
(Acts 17:30)
Devotional
Repentance is the turning from believing one thing to believing another. The evidence of it is the turning from being one thing to being another and the turning of doing one thing to doing another. Genuine repentance brings about genuine change. If someone says that they believe in Christ as their savior and have not began the process of a changed life, I must then question that kink of belief. Consider Romans 6:1-2, "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?"[15] Let us understand that like salvation, repentance is granted not earned. The avenue by which it is found is through the gates of confession, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."[16] "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord."[17]
