What's On Your Mind?

Scripture
I will also meditate on all Your work, and talk of Your deeds.
(Psalm 77:12)
Devotional
George Whitefield the disciple of John Wesley and the central figure in America's great awakening said, "God forbid that I should travel with anybody a quarter of an hour without speaking of Christ to them." I am convinced that whatever is on our minds will be on our lips. We speak what we think. Whatever dominates the gray matter between our ears will dominate what flows from our lips. We all have friends who are quick to speak of sports, their favorite type of entertainment or hobbies. What we ought to also seek are fiends who are quick to speak about the things of God and His Word. Even better, we ought to be that kind of friend. However, before we are willing to speak about the things of God we will have to have the things of God on our minds. This we will do if we are given to prayer, personal Bible study, good preaching and teaching and the fellowship of the saints. Good actions make for good thoughts and good thoughts make for good conversation and good conversation speaks of Christ.
