Title

Asking In Prayer

Scripture
Whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
(John 16:23-24)
Devotional
There is not a particular formula to prayer; however there is a certain protocol. Psalm 100:4 instructs us on how we are to approach the Father, "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name."[11] When Jesus taught His disciples to pray, He told them to begin with, "Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name."[12] To hallow is to respect and greatly honor. We are to pray to the Father, in the name of Jesus, beginning with thanksgiving and praise. And because of who we are in Christ, we can boldly approach the throne of grace.[13] This boldness is to always be accompanied by thanksgiving and praise. Likewise, because of the righteousness we have received in Christ, we can ask the Father knowing that He will answer and that His answer, if received by faith will bring the fullness of joy.
