Title

Do Your Prayers Pass The Test?

Scripture
The Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, "Ask! What shall I give you?"
(1 Kings 3:5)

God is not a genie in a lamp that if rubbed a certain way will grant you three wishes. He is Lord God Almighty. God was testing Solomon when He said, "Ask! What shall I give you?" Because Solomon asked for that which pleased the Lord, Solomon received his request. Think about your prayer time. For what do you ask? List your petitions. Is it a give me list? James tells us, "You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures."[36] If your prayers are not being answered, as you would like, it could be because you are praying with the wrong priorities. Consider Solomon's request, "Give to Your servant an understanding heart... that I may discern between good and evil."[37] His petition was with regard to his calling. In essence he asked to be equipped for the God given task before him. Because his priorities were right, God gave him what he did not ask: riches, and honor.[38]
