Title

This Realm of Vapor

Scripture
Surely men of low degree are a vapor, Men of high degree are a lie; if they are weighed on the scales, they are altogether lighter than vapor.
(Psalm 62:9)
Devotional
Life is fragile and people are fickle. This I have found to be the constant of time. The average every day man comes and goes. Those who believe themselves to be something when they are nothing deceive themselves.[25] We are clearly told in the book of James, "For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away."[26] Therefore we are not to take ourselves too seriously. By all means we are to take the things of God with all gravity, but ourselves as a vapor. Does this make life insignificant? It surely does not. Life is more than the years of days we live on this celestial globe. We were originally designed to live forever in a paradisiacal garden. But because of sin, death became inevitable. But thanks to the saving grace of Christ we are new creations designed to live forever in heaven. Therefore let us enjoy are time in this vapor, not taking ourselves too seriously, realizing that the best is yet to come.
