Title

Workmen Are To Labor

Scripture
“So the workmen labored, and the work was completed by them; they restored the house of God to its original condition and reinforced it.”
(2 Chronicles 24:13)
Devotional
Work is to be both honorable and good. If we are not working, we are not walking in obedience to our Creator. We are designed to work. We are also to finish the work to which God calls us. It matters not how strongly we start; it matters how successfully we finish. In addition, we are to restore and reinforce the work God gives us. We can do this by building on our foundation, Christ, as well as reinforcing that foundation by our manner of lives and the words of our testimonies. (1) As our text states, workmen are to not only labor, they are to restore, reinforce, and complete their work. This may appear to be too simple, but like so many profound truths of scripture, the weightiness is found in its simplicity.

Text For The Day
2 Chronicles 24:13: So the workmen labored, and the work was completed by them; they restored the house of God to its original condition and reinforced it.
Thought For The Day
“’Anyone who would not work should not eat’ (2 Thessalonians 3:10). But the laws of Saint Paul are not merely for the poor. They are for the rich as well. We accuse the poor of laziness. This laziness is often excusable. We ourselves are often guilty of worse idleness.” John Crysostom, I believe he was a fourth century Bishop of Constantinople
