Do Business

Scripture
13
(Luke:19)
Devotional
I love the admonition of the parable, "Do business till I come." I have been in some form of business just about my entire life. As a young child I would cut grass and shovel snow. As a teenager I ran a gas station for my brother. In my early adult years I had several businesses. Now, I am about another business of the Lord, I pastor a church. Here is the caveat, There is no difference; I was no less responsible to Christ in the market place as I now am in the worship place. As a believer I am to do business until Christ comes again. Godly character, integrity and the like are to be the norm for every believer. When I hear the command, "Do business," I cannot but help to add, "Do your best business." I do not believe that God calls His people to failure. He equips us for and expects success. Listen to the challenge to the Colossians, "Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."[37]
