Title

A Nature of The Fall

Scripture
They reward me evil for good, to the sorrow of my soul.
(Psalm 35:12)
Devotional
From creation, life was intended to be more than fair. Nevertheless after the fall of man, life became what it is, sinful, unfair and ending in death. We cannot expect a sin-cursed world to be anything other than filled with sin. It is the fallen nature of man. Mankind by makeup is unjust, dishonest, imbalanced and deceitful. Try though he may, without the saving knowledge of Christ, there will always be inequity. Outside of God's kingdom anarchy is inevitable. Therefore, when man by nature does what man does, let us not be surprised. However, once we are born anew into the eternal kingdom of the living God, our sin-cursed nature is to die. We no longer have to succumb to the innate characteristics of the fallen. God's Word clearly tells us, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."[24] Even though our good may be rewarded with evil, let us not reward in kind.
