Title

Facing Trouble

Scripture
The righteous is delivered from trouble, and it comes to the wicked instead.
(Proverbs 11:8)
Devotional
If there is one thing that we need to note from this seemingly simple proverb, it is that we are not exempt of trouble, but that we will be delivered from it. Jesus said that in this world we would have tribulation, but He also said, "be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."[9] Our righteousness comes from our relationship to Jesus Christ. It has little or nothing to do with our good deeds or doing things right. Wickedness on the other hand has everything to do with our deeds and the way we do the things we do. Therefore to those of us who are in Christ, whatever trouble may we face in this life will be overcome by Christ, if not in this life, then in the life to come. Whatever trouble may be avoided by the wicked (those without the saving knowledge of Christ) will certainly come upon, again, if not in this life, then in the life to come.
