Devotional
The disciples were there; they saw the feeding of the five thousand with the five loaves and two fish. They gathered the twelve leftover baskets. Nevertheless they did not understand. I think the message is clear: whenever there is a lack of understanding of the things of God, we can attribute it to hardened hearts. Whenever the things of God offend us it is because we are thin-skinned and hard hearted. That is, the things of flesh are stronger than the things of Spirit in our lives. This is to be reversed; we are to become thick-skinned and tenderhearted. Herein is a fruit of understanding. Whenever we find ourselves disagreeing or not understanding the things of God, it may be time for a hart check. Whether dealing with the Word of God or the people of God, our lack of understanding will most likely be related to a heart condition rather than a head condition. How's your understanding?
