"You shall not bear false witness."
(Exodus 20:16)
Devotional
Whether speaking a partial truth or an out an out lie about another is by all means a false witness. To let another in a disparagingly manner directly or indirectly is to bear false witness. If we look at the beatitudes, Jesus teaches us that if we do it in our minds it is as if we have done so openly. To judge or think evil of another based on innuendoes or fabrications is likewise to bear false witness
