The Forgiven forgive

Scripture
"So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses."
(Matthew 18:35)
Devotional
Our narrative begins with Jesus telling a story, "The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants."[37] The unjust servant was forgiven his debt, but did not forgive the debt of another. Therefore the judgment of the king fell upon him. The warning is clear and explicit; if we do not forgive, we will incur the wrath of the King of kings. The apostle James tells us, "Judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy." Thank God that he continues with, "Mercy triumphs over judgment."[38] We must continually ask ourselves whether or not there is "unforgivness" in our hearts. If so, we need to confess that sin and purposefully choose to forgive. Understand that forgiving someone does not equate to forgiving his or her sin, only God can do that. It does mean however that we do not keep record of the wrong (we don't keep score).[39]
