Ready or Not

Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Devotional
The operative word in our text is "Ready." We are to be the ready for the return of Christ. He is coming back. We do not know the day or the hour, but never has mankind been closer to His return. Our state of readiness is to be that of normality. We are to be living our lives in such a way that we will not be taken by surprise. Here is what we are to be doing: Jesus said, "Do business till I come."[1] Therefore, how's business? The apostle Paul said to the Colossians, "Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men... for you serve the Lord Christ.”[2] This is how we are to be “Ready.” Doing what we do by faith and at our very best. I would hope that if we knew that Christ was returning tomorrow, that we would not have to change a thing, but would by faith continue to due the things we are doing.
