Title

When Others Doubt You

Scripture
His own people... went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, “He is out of His mind.”
(Mark 3:21)
Devotional
The earthly family of Jesus: James, Joses, Judas, Simon and His sisters[1] all thought that Jesus was, as the King James Version says, "Beside Himself." They did not believe in Him. They did not believe that He was the Son of God, the Savior of the world. Aren't you glad that He did not allow rejection to stop Him? Aren't you glad that He never stopped being who He was? Eventually His brothers and sisters did believe in Him.[2] James and Jude both wrote books in the Bible. When God calls you to an endeavor, there will be people who will doubt your calling; and most likely, they will be those who are the closest to you. Jesus said, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house."[3] Therefore, don't give up; don't quit. Eventually, if you remain obedient, your fruit will bare witness of your calling.
