Title

Trim Your Wick and Shine

Scripture
Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand?
(Mark 4:21)
Devotional
It is easy to shine in with other lamps. It is easy to boast and parade our beliefs and desires in the presence of those with the same boasts and beliefs. Yet, it is the rare lamp that is willing to shine alone in the darkness. Few lamps are willing to share their light with those whose wicks have been extinguished or never ignited. Whether in church or a rally of the like minded, it is easy to burn brightly and sparkle, but the same lamp dwindles in the presence of those who need its light the most. How many lamps are walking around hidden under their baskets of pride, fear and doubt? How many darkened lamps will never be illuminated because of our timidness and unwillingness to shine in the darkness? Let us unashamedly place our lamps on the lampstand of our lives and shine, shine, shine. Someone is waiting to see what you see. Someone needs the light of your lamp.
