Title

Communication's Mode

Scripture
He who winks with the eye causes trouble, but a prating fool will fall.
(Proverbs 10:10)
Devotional
Patronizing deception is not only highly insulting; it inevitably brings grief to its recipients. There is no such thing as charming deception. Whether a malicious wink or a misleading smile, both are not to be appeased. Let us never attempt to justify deception or purposefully choose to be deceived. It only causes trouble. In like manner aimless chatter leads to ruin. It matters not if our conversation is verbal or facial, let us always endeavor to communicate truth. Let the words of our mouths and the expressions of our faces be acceptable in the sight of the Lord. Our attitudes, body language and speech are to be honest modes of communication. Let us not only give great care to the things that we say, but also to how we say them. A backhanded compliment for example is an openhanded insult. And "A fool's voice is known by his many words."[1]
