Title

Not For The Faint-hearted

Scripture
The way of the LORD is strength for the upright, but destruction will come to the workers of iniquity.
(Proverbs 10:29)
Devotional
I have heard Christianity defined as a crutch for the weak-minded. My initial response is, "A crutch isn't bad if you are a cripple." The truth of the matter, however, is that faith in Christ is not for the faint-hearted. It is for the humble of heart, but not the weak of heart. Faith in Christ demands all that the heart has. We are repeatedly commanded to "love the LORD your God with all your heart."[1] This is the way of the Lord and it is our strength.

The believer realizes that in himself he can do nothing of any eternal value, but in Christ he can do all things--in this life and the life to come.  Those without this saving knowledge are headed for destruction because any work void of Christ is iniquity.  And the workers of iniquity will not prosper.  Therefore, let us ask ourselves "What is the source of my strength?"  The answer is a matter of life and death.
