Title

Look at the Numbers

Scripture
According to the commandment of the Lord they were numbered by the hand of Moses, each according to his service and according to his task.
(Numbers 4:49)
Devotional
Numbers are only insignificant to those who have none. Numbers are obviously important to God. Numbers reveal the fruit we bear. They are simply the measure of what we do. Without them we do not know where we are or what we have accomplished, or who is with us in our endeavors. Successful people know the numbers of their organizations. They know who is doing what task and who is with them to serve. From the balance of our checkbooks to the hours of our days, numbers measure all. The psalmist has said, "So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."[1] God numbers everything, from the hairs of our heads to the length of our days. Therefore, if they are important to God, they ought to be important to us. If you desire to know how your life is going, according to the commandment of the Lord, look at the numbers.
