Title

Words And Work, Work

Scripture
A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, and the recompense of a man's hands will be rendered to him.
(Proverbs 12:14)
Devotional
Here we have a formula for success: words together with work. There are wordy people who accomplish little or nothing in their lives, just as there are hard working people who accomplish not much more. It takes the genius of both. Words, like faith without works, are dead being alone. Nevertheless, it takes words to promote, share and multiply the fruit of our work. I have known many hard working people who have failed to share their abilities and talents with others, who, when they died, their giftedness died with them. Likewise, many people work hard but accomplish little because of a failure to learn the art of communication. These seldom, if ever, are promoted to greater tasks or leadership roles because they do not verbally convey their ability to work. A life's testimony is best shared in words and deeds. It is unwise to attempt to do so by mere words or mere works alone. The brilliance is found in both.
