Title

Look for Opportunity to Praise

Scripture
And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.
(Luke 6:31)
Devotional
We call it the "Golden Rule." And like gold, it is rarely found. We so desire it in others, but do we truly find it in ourselves? Do we practice the rule that most of us preach? Do we do our part? Do we cognitively treat others, as we would have them treat us? We desire for others to treat us kindly, graciously and honorably. We want and need to hear accolades and praise. We desire to be complimented and thanked when we do well. We want to be noticed for working hard and giving our best. It is good to be confirmed for the things that we do. How much more should we be the ones doing the confirming and giving the accolades? The rule is clear, if we want people to do so to us, we in turn must do so to others. Look for opportunity to compliment and praise. Do not patronize, but truly acclaim that which is worthy of notice and acclamation. Do so, and it will return to you.
