Title

How Are You Walking

Scripture
He who walks in his uprightness fears the Lord, but he who is perverse in his ways despises Him.
(Proverbs 14:2)
Devotional
Mankind is the only creature on the earth that walks truly with an upright posture. There are animals that may walk somewhat vertically, but none like mankind. The reason being is that we are created in the image of God. However, this uprightness is more than a posture it is a metaphor for godliness and righteousness. Therefore to walk uprightly is to live our lives according to the ways and dictates of God as found in His Word. It is holding our heads high, not in arrogance, but in certainty of who He is. Naturally, the perverse are the antithesis of the upright. Can you visualize the analogy? One is standing tall nothing to conceal, while the other cowers in shame with much to hide. One stands in reverence of the Lord; the other cannot stand aright because of his or her self-centered ways. It is evident that the upright honor God and the perverse dishonor Him.
