Title

The Light of His Word

Scripture
Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.
(Luke 11:35)
Devotional
Just because what we see, we see clearly does not make it right. The thief may have his scheme perfectly planned and the liar may believe his lie, but both are in darkness. The question we are to ask ourselves is what or who illuminates us? From where do we get our light? There is a sure light to follow there is a clear beacon to illuminate our way. Psalm 119:105 clearly tells us, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."[1] No matter how clearly we may think we see, if what we see is contrary to God's Word, what we se is darkness. Proverbs 6:23 instructs, "For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light."[2] We are to always check the light that leads us by the light of the Word of God, never the reverse. No matter how clear the experience or the way may appear, God will never contradict the light of His Word.
