Title

The Hallmark Of The Believer

Scripture
Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; and to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.
(Psalm 50:23)
Devotional
Two indisputable requirements of the believer are clearly revealed in this one text of scripture—the first being praise and the second obedience. Our lives are not to be the disillusionment of either or, but the gratifying beauty of both. We glorify God by offering praise and worship. We honor Him and see His handiwork through our conduct. Godly praise and right living is to be the hallmark of the believer. Yet too often we attempt to offer one without the other. I have seen countless good people who attempt to live righteously fail miserably with regard to praise and worship. Likewise there are some who demonstrate great adulation and fervent “spiritual” emotion yet have deplorable testimonies in the world.  In reality, one without the other is fraudulent. Praise is good conduct and good conduct praises God. They are to be inseparable. Let us glorify Him and see His salvation.
