Title

Up Close And Personal

Scripture
However I did not believe the words until I came and saw with my own eyes; and indeed the half was not told me.
(1 Kings 10:7)
Devotional
Solomon's fame had spread throughout the world; nevertheless, his personal appearance was greater than his fame. There is nothing like a living testimony. The apostle Paul said it this way of the Corinthians; "Clearly you are an epistle of Christ… written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.”[1] The closer people get to us the better we ought to look. Naturally, I am not speaking of physical appearance, but of character, integrity and godliness. Therefore we are to ask ourselves, “Is what others see at a distance who we are up close, or is just a façade?” If those whom we impress at a distance were to spend a week with us in our homes, would their impression of us be enhanced or rebuffed? It is one thing to have stage presence and quite another to have personal presence.
