The Bedrock Of Relationships

Scripture
The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain.
(Proverbs 31:11)
Devotional
Trust is the bedrock of any lasting relationship, especially in marriage. Without it all other qualities will eventually waver and fail. The antithesis of trust is jealousy. Jealousy consumes the mind and brings nothing but loss. Trust on the other hand requires little thought and brings gain. Without it there will always be at best doubt and most likely conflict. Trustworthiness is the chief characteristic of the virtuous. In it is found security, peace and growing love. It always has to be earned. If lost, it will take up to a lifetime to regain. Its strength is in its steadfastness. Once it falters it will seldom if ever regain its previous rank. Therefore even though it is a great measure of strength, it is fragile when held in light regard. If you are a custodian of trust, guard it faithfully. Trust holds relationships together and brings prosperity to its possessors.
