Title

The Virtue Of The Early Morning

Scripture
She also rises while it is yet night, and provides food for her household, and a portion for her maidservants.
(Proverbs 31:15)
Devotional
Those who begin their days early will prosper in those days. Time and time again the Bible speaks about the blessing and prosperity of those who rise early. I know that the sweetest time of sleep can be those extra few minutes in the morning. Yes, they are enticing, but they often lead to poverty. We are warned, "Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with bread."[1] Some would mistakenly think that only the impoverished have to rise early, yet here in our text, this woman is the epitome of success. She has servants, is honored and her husband is well known and respected. All who know her hold her in high esteem. Will getting up early in itself do it? No, but it is a good beginning. Getting up early with a purpose and pursuing that purpose, will surely lead to this virtue.
