The Family Business

Scripture
She considers a field and buys it; from her profits she plants a vineyard.
(Proverbs 31:16)
Devotional
The business of a homemaker is big business. When you consider what it takes to manage your home, you will quickly realize that all your other dealings are subsidiaries of the business of your home. The decision-making, the finances and the maintenance of my family and home are much larger than what I managed in my early years of business. The cost of housing, food and the like is far greater than I could have ever anticipated. Everyone with a family has a family business. Therefore we are to care for that business as if it were a major corporate entity—the most important business that we do.  There is no room for haphazard business practices in the home. Budgeting, bookkeeping and business meetings are to be the standards of a sound house. For if you fail at this business, what does it matter if you succeed at all others?  Consider the needs of your family and home, and from your profits do your business.
