Regulated Sleep

Scripture
How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep?
(Proverbs 6:9)
Devotional
It is more than obvious that the Bible has no kind words about laziness and that unregulated sleep appears to be a symptom of that laziness. One biblical admonition should be sufficient to a listening ear. Multiple warnings with the slightest bit of wisdom cannot be ignored. Sleep is a necessity of life. Inordinate sleep is a hazard of life. Too much or too little is a good indication that something is wrong physically, emotionally or spiritually. One would be amiss to generically say that there is only one mode by which we all are to sleep and slumber. I would think a key to proper sleep would be sleep that is regulated if at all possible. There may be an element of truth to the adage, "Early to bed, early to rise makes one healthy, wealthy and wise." The Bible likewise has something to say about the fruit of the morning. The phrase "In the morning" is used over a hundred times in the scriptures. The indication is that early morning is a good time to start the day.[1]
