Title

It Is Not About The Money

Scripture
Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away like an eagle toward heaven.
(Proverbs 23:5)
Devotional
It is not to be about the money, it has got to be about the purpose. People who work for money work for that which cannot satisfy. It is what we do with our resources that makes life full and rich. Accumulating for the sake of accumulating is not only wasteful, but also wrong. Having riches without a purpose equates to an impoverished life. The Bible is clear, "The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up."[8] Job said it this way, "The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord."[9] Do we really think that God would bless that which is done for selfish reasons? If we set our eyes on a godly purpose; that which God has deposited in our hearts, we will prosper at that endeavor. However, if we set our eyes on the lust of the flesh and the pride of life, we will see our riches fly away.
