Title

Ready or Not, Here He Comes

Scripture
He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with His truth.
(Psalm 96:13)
Devotional
The inevitable return of Christ is a cause of fear for many and a cause of rejoicing for some. Which is it to you? For those who are Christ's at His return it is a cause of great joy and anticipation. For those without Christ it ought to be a cause of greater concern. The only thing worse than ignoring the second advent of Christ is to have ignored His first. The first time He came to save. The second time He is coming to judge. He is coming to judge those who have ignored His grace and mercy, His love and compassion. When He returns it will be a fearful thing to fall into His hands.[1] Without doubt, we are closer to the return of Christ than ever. There is nothing holding Him back but His patience and mercy. "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."[2]
