Title

Let's Not Be Given To Change

Scripture
Do not associate with those given to change; For their calamity will rise suddenly, And who knows the ruin those two can bring?,
(Proverbs 24:21-22)
Devotional
Here we have the Biblical argument for conservatism. Our text is not talking about positive change from sin to righteousness. The Bible is clear in Psalm 55:19 we are told, "Because they do not change, therefore they do not fear God."[1] We must constantly be changing that we might be conformed to the express image of Christ. Nevertheless, we are to be very slow to change governmentally. Political change for the most part is regressive. Governments void of a spiritual base fall into a continual entropy until they collapse. A government that is not founded on the laws of God will inevitably reject and war against the things of God. So-called spiritual and political liberalism cannot but help to reject the things of God, because its foundation is godless. Our founding fathers were the godliest of men. Their intent was that we would be a God fearing people. Let's not be given to change.
