Title

Standing In The Breach

Scripture
He said that He would destroy them, had not Moses His chosen one stood before Him in the breach, to turn away His wrath.
(Psalm 106:23)
Devotional
God's children can change His mind. In the thirty-second chapter of Exodus, we read the account, "Moses entreated the Lord his God… So the Lord changed His mind about the harm which He said He would do to His people.”[1] As Moses was God’s chosen, so are those who have placed their faith and trust in His Son. “You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people.”[2] We too can stand in the breach. We too can call on the Lord for mercy and seek His favor, not only on our own behalf, but on the behalf of others as well. Just as a loving parent will change his or her mind with regard to an obedient child, our heavenly Father will likewise hear the request of His children. Therefore let us stand in the breach for our families and loved ones. Let us make intercession on behalf of His church, our nation and those in need of His grace.
