Title

Hezekiah's Prayer

Scripture
Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the Lord, and said, "Remember now, O Lord, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what is good in Your sight." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
(Isaiah 38:2-3)
Devotional
We not only learn a lot about a person when they pray, we can learn a lot from them as well. King Hezekiah was about to die. Isaiah, the man of God, told him to get is house in order. The very first thing Hezekiah did was pray. He did not even bother to leave the room. He turned his face toward the wall and prayed the above prayer. Hezekiah appealed to the Lord and shared his heart. God in turn relented of His judgment and granted him fifteen more years of life. We may not understand God's sentence or His mercy, but we sure can learn from the result of king Hezekiah's prayer. Hezekiah wept and reminded God of his righteousness. We can do likewise with even more righteousness. We have obtained the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.[1] Therefore when life's trials come our way, let us learn to pray like good king Hezekiah.
