Title

Extinguish Those Embers

Scripture
Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; and where there is no talebearer, strife ceases. As charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire, so is a contentious man to kindle strife.
(Proverbs 26:20-21)
Devotional
If you are having problems in your family, church, business or organization, most likely you have a talebearer in your midst. Find out who it is and deal with them immediately. If a family member, correct them and chastise them if you have the authority. If in the church, speak to them in love, and if need be expose their contentions. If business, correct it or remove it. No mater how the situation is to be dealt with, it must be dealt with. Those smoldering embers of strife and contention can and will eventually destroy the greatest of structures. Whether it is a business, a church or a family, those smoldering embers will eventually ignite and once they do, the fire they cause will be extremely difficult to extinguish. Attack the smoldering embers before the first begins and save yourself the greatest of heartaches.
