Title

Wear Your Heart Openly

Scripture
As in water face reflects face, so a man's heart reveals the man.
(Proverbs 27:19)
Devotional
Whatever makes us laugh, cry or angry comes from the heart. No matter how good of a facade we may portray, eventually our hearts will betray that veneer. Therefore let us not attempt to hide our hearts, but let us reveal them openly and honestly. I know and understand the danger and vulnerability this involves, but the risk will more than be worth the effort. One of my goals is to be the same person in whatever endeavor I may be. I am a pastor. I want to be the same person in front of the pulpit as I am behind it. Whether in church or driving my 1959 MGA, I want to be who I am. The danger is that who we are will show. Even though there are times I say things that I probably shouldn’t be saying; there is a security in being who I am where ever I am. I’m not saying that there is not to be times of formality or casualness, but I am saying that our hearts are to be the same wherever we are or in what ever we are doing.
