Title

Alexander The Coppersmiths

Scripture
Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works.
(2 Timothy 4:14)
Devotional
In the book of Acts, chapter 19, Alexander attempted to come to Paul's defense.[1] Now he has become the enemy of the apostle Paul. We do not know what happened to cause him to turn from defense to offense, but whatever it was, it was detrimental to Paul. Have you ever had an Alexander the coppersmith in your life? Has there ever been someone in whom you trusted, befriended and loved who has turned against you for no apparent reason? If there hasn't been, but you do right long enough, there will be. I don't understand it. I don't like it, but nevertheless it will happen. No friend can hurt you like those the closest to you. I am by no means saying to be leery of friends, but I am warning that it can and most likely will happen. If and when it happens, do not be embittered, but do as the apostle did, turn him or her over to the Lord. Mark them, but love them and always remember, "God knows."
