Title

Faith Choices

Scripture
By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin.
(Hebrews 11:24-25)
Devotional
The key to the choices Moses made was not based on his humility, his bravery, his integrity or even his righteousness. The choices he made were made by faith. Likewise with all mentioned in this chapter of champions, their greatness was not so much in what they did, even though they did great and mighty exploits. They were great because of the one in whom they placed their faith. Moses was raised in all the luxury of Pharaoh's house. He was educated in the finest schools. He was royalty. Yet, by faith he knew that these things were the passing pleasures of sin and that a greater pleasure was awaiting him, the pleasure of obeying and serving the true God. Even though it was a pleasure with hardships, it was a pleasure with eternal rewards. You and I will likewise have to, by faith, make hard choices. They may not be at the level of the choices Moses had to make, but nevertheless choices.
