Investing In the Truth

Scripture
Buy the truth, and do not sell it, also wisdom and instruction and understanding.
(Proverbs 23:23)
Devotional
If truth, wisdom, instruction and understanding can be bought, then there has to be a price to obtain them. If they, likewise, can be sold, then they must have value. I have found that “free” can be very costly. Things that come without a price usually are things that steal time, energy, and resources. Even though salvation is a free gift of God, it cost God a great price, His Son. Seek out the truth. Be willing to pay a great price for it. It is a pearl of great price. Give of your time and resources to obtain it. And once you have it, hold on to it. When asked to compromise the truth, simply state, “Not for sale.” Jesus said of the truth, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Invest in these and they will pay dividends without measure. These are great stocks. Be patient with your investment in the truth and prosper.
