Title

We Get What's Coming To Us

Scripture
If the righteous will be recompensed on the earth, how much more the ungodly and the sinner.
(Proverbs 11:31)
Devotional
My mom had a saying that defines this proverbs in simple terms, "You'll get your come-up-ends." To be recompensed is to receive a just award or compensation for one's deeds. Basically, God is a just God; and His justice always works out in life. We may not always see it or understand it, but God deals out blessings to whom blessing are do and retribution to whom retribution is due. I am personally convinced that God give to His children only those things His children can handle. Basically, we have what we can manage. Therefore, prosperity is not always a blessing to those who are immature or unable to cope with the responsibility of wealth. Likewise, the accuser of the brethren gives his children anything that will keep them from the truth of the gospel of Christ. In all this, God is just and will recompense to all their due.
