Title

Prepare Yourself Like a Man

Scripture
Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me.
(Job 40:7)
Devotional
Gentlemen, this is for you. How would you respond to such a question from the Creator of the universe? What manly attribute would you have to acquire to meet God’s standard for manhood? The first thing that comes to my mind are the men that God said were special to Him: Abraham God’s friend, Moses the humblest man in scripture and of course David, a man after God’s own heart. We would likewise have to look to the apostles Peter, John and Paul. Above all we would have to look to Jesus, the man. These men are the epitome of manhood. What things did they have in common? They praised and worshipped God. They were men of prayer. They were obedient and loyal. They were faithful to their families and friends. They said what they meant and meant what they said. Basically, the things that they did in these realms, we are able to do. Look at them and prepare yourself like a man.

Thought For The Day
“And last, and strangest, there had come into my mind a vague and vast impression that in some way all good was a remnant to be stored and held sacred out of some primordial ruin. Man had saved his good as Crusoe saved his goods: he had saved them from a wreck.” G.K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy.
