Title

The Church at Sardis

Scripture
"I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain..."
(Revelation 3:1-2)
Devotional
Because a church is well known and respected in the community does not necessarily mean that it is alive and well from heaven's perspective. A church can have a lot of activities, many ministries and great crowds of people, nevertheless if that church is void of genuine worship, fellowship and teaching it is dead. Therefore let us watch and strengthen ourselves in the Lord, not in ministry. It is not a matter of either/or, but a matter of doing the one in the power of the other. The fellowship of the believers is not about ministry; it is about Christ and the ministry to which He has called us. It's not about me. It's not about programs. It's not about numbers. It's all about Christ and His will for His church. Let us find those godly leaders among us and remember, "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."[16]
